The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Tikrit stands as a distinguished academic beacon, encompassing a broad range of scientific disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. This academic diversity positions the College as a leader in the field of pure sciences.
Our dedicated academic and administrative staff have made significant efforts to establish the College as a center of scientific excellence. Through the advancement of its departments, the College strives to raise its academic standing in comparison with peer institutions across Iraq and internationally. These efforts are reinforced through active scientific communication and the exchange of expertise via reputable conferences and high-quality research in collaboration with leading global universities.
In pursuit of academic excellence, the College has formed strategic partnerships with internationally recognized institutions, contributing to the advancement of scientific research. We are committed to preparing a new generation of leaders—knowledgeable, capable, and deeply aware—who believe in science as a fundamental path toward progress and discovery.
The College maintains a strong and genuine connection with societal needs, serving as a bridge to a brighter future for generations to come. Our graduates play a direct role in the educational process, making the College a vital contributor to the development of society, especially in the field of education.
To ensure continuous improvement, the College supports its scientific departments by providing advanced laboratory equipment, specialized personnel, and all necessary resources. These efforts aim to transform each department into a center of knowledge capable of addressing contemporary scientific challenges. Additionally, the College is committed to ongoing innovation and development in line with the principles of academic integrity and quality assurance.

College Vision
The College aims to be one of the leading educational institutions in the country, recognized for its distinguished reputation and high standards in preparing well-qualified graduates and teachers to serve in relevant institutions and contribute meaningfully to society.
A dedicated group of 175 academic staff members (male and female) are responsible for teaching and supervising students. This committed team of faculty members is supported by a number of skilled technicians and administrative employees—both permanent and contractual—across the various departments and administrative units of the College. Together, they contribute to advancing the College’s scientific and educational mission and to guiding it toward broader horizons of academic excellence.
The College awards Bachelor’s degrees in all its undergraduate programs. To date, the total number of graduates has reached 5,151 in the morning study programs and 2,657 in the evening study programs across all departments.
The College continues to move confidently and steadily toward its strategic goals. One of its primary objectives is to prepare highly qualified teaching staff to support the educational system of the Ministry of Education. The College’s graduates are expected to contribute effectively to the educational process in secondary schools, preparatory schools, and institutes, and to help elevate them to more advanced scientific levels.
In addition to their academic qualifications, the College's graduates gain diverse educational skills and acquire comprehensive knowledge in modern teaching methods and educational technologies.
It is worth noting that many of the College’s professors have made significant academic contributions through participation in scientific conferences both inside and outside Iraq. Additionally, several faculty members have received patents and various scientific awards, reflecting the College's growing academic impact.
The Mission of the College
In light of the College’s vision and mission, the objectives of the College of Education for Pure Sciences are as follows:

To prepare competent teachers in line with modern educational approaches to work in Iraqi secondary schools (intermediate and preparatory levels).

To qualify specialists for employment in various applied fields such as schools, universities, hospitals, educational, industrial, and social institutions.

To contribute to enhancing the competencies of teachers and educators within the Ministry of Education and other educational institutions by offering support through specialized programs and training courses.

To prepare a generation of researchers in various educational and scientific fields through postgraduate programs (Master’s and Ph.D. degrees).

To promote educational and scientific awareness in the community by organizing seminars and delivering public lectures through continuing education and community service programs.

To contribute to solving problems in both public and private sectors through joint research, studies, consultations, and coordination with relevant ministries and institutions.

To prepare researchers with the intellectual and conceptual capacity to engage and collaborate effectively with academic and educational institutions in ways that serve individuals and society.

To develop curricula and academic programs for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

To strengthen mechanisms of scientific and research collaboration with universities, ministries, and other institutions.

The Mission of the College of Education for Pure Sciences
The mission of the College of Education for Pure Sciences is to prepare teachers (leaders, educators, and researchers) for secondary schools and educational and scientific institutions who are capable of making effective contributions to scientific, cultural, and social transformations. This is achieved through nurturing and guiding the new generation in a manner that serves the nation and helps it keep pace with global scientific developments, while improving teaching methods at all levels.
The College pursues this mission in cooperation with the University of Baghdad’s colleges, other universities, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, and other relevant ministries, all with the goal of serving the community.
